Do you have allergies? These may be the causes…

All the reasons that produce this abnormal reaction in the body are still unknown, but it is known that there is a genetic predisposition that may or may not develop over the years.

A macro-study carried out in the USA by the National Institute of Environmental Health of the NIH (National Institutes of Health), showed that the predisposition of the individual had a greater weight than the environment when developing allergies.

It is estimated that a child with an allergic parent has a 50 percent chance of suffering a reaction of this type. If both of your parents are allergic, the chance jumps to 70 percent.

The nature of the allergens is an important factor in inducing IgE production.

For example, an allergy to milk can begin as an allergy to lactose, which is introduced in many industrial packaged products, and then develop into an allergy to milk itself. It is convenient not to confuse allergy with intolerance, because as we have explained they are two different things.

Another factor to take into account is environmental air pollution, both indoors and outdoors, as it influences the immune response.

In fact, in recent years, proallergic responses for this reason have skyrocketed, especially in large cities.

The air in cities is highly polluted and this influences the development of plants, making their pollen more aggressive and much more allergic.

This fact is closely related to global warming which, together with the greenhouse effect, has increased the number of cases of allergies due to winter pollens. Something unthinkable a few decades ago.

The most common allergy triggers are:

1- Allergy to dust mites:

Dust mites are microscopic organisms that are found in every home. They multiply easily in warm and humid places and feed on the skin scales that we shed.

Their preferred habitat is traditional closed mattresses, because they provide the ideal conditions for them to live and multiply. Most of the mattresses that are marketed are of this type.

Although they are invisible to the human eye and are not dangerous to health, there are people who develop a hypersensitivity reaction to the proteins present in the fecal particles of dust mites.

2-By fungi:

Humidity is the decisive factor for the proliferation of fungi, since they reproduce by spores in humid environments. These spores travel through the air remaining in suspension. Its inhalation is the cause of allergy.

Inside the house they frequently appear in air conditioning filters and humidifiers, easily dispersing throughout the house.

Moisture by condensation produces the perfect environment for the appearance of fungi, as well as that of mites and bacteria. They are the most common trigger of asthma and other respiratory conditions.

3-To pets:

The cause of these allergies are proteins found in the saliva, urine and dander of animals, especially in dogs and cats. These substances are deposited in the fur of animals and spread throughout the home.

The allergic reaction they produce usually affects the eyes and respiratory tract, triggering asthmatic symptoms or allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. It can also manifest in the form of hives or atopic dermatitis.
